SLEEPING CHILDREN AROUND THE WORLD

A LIONS DISTRICT A16 PROMOTED CHARITY

The guiding principle of this organization is

“That the basic right of every child is to have a comfortable night’s sleep.”

To that extent, we the DISTRICT A16 LIONS CLUBS donate money in order to buy BED KITS at a cost of $40.00 (Canadian).  These kits are produced locally in the country in which they will be distributed.  This does two things:

1.   It gives employment/production in that region
2.   It cuts down on costs, as the kits are directly delivered and manufactured there.

Teams from Canada (at their own expense) go to the location, assemble and deliver the kits to the children in over 34 countries.  By end of 2015, 1.4 million kits have been distributed.

Every dollar that you donate goes 100% to purchase these kits.  The administration of SCAW is funded from a LEGACY FUND setup by Murray & Margaret Dryden, the originators of SCAW.
